ROAD
WORTHY

Operations Manual v6.9

Mission Statement

Road Worthy transforms standard patrols into active safety investigations. By introducing real-time vehicle faults, I provide officers with legitimate probable cause to initiate stops and keep the citizens of San Andreas safe.

⚠️ DEPARTMENTAL ADVISORY: This manual only covers the basics. Review the included INI for more detailed information. The INI allows you to adjust the violation lottery "raffle tickets," set the exact spawn percentages, or completely disable specific violations by setting them to 0.

01. The Road Worthy Experience

Think of Road Worthy as your "PC Scavenger Hunt." It breathes life into ambient traffic by ensuring that not every vehicle on the road is in showroom condition.

As you patrol, the system dynamically "breaks" NPC vehicles in your vicinity—causing headlights to flicker out, engines to smoke, tires to blow, or panels to fly loose—giving you a realistic and legal reason to flip on the lights.

Note on Duty Status

Road Worthy is a fully standalone immersion script. It does not require you to "Go on Duty" via LSPDFR or any other plugin. Mechanical faults will begin generating as soon as the script loads in Story Mode.

02. Technical Setup

Installation Workflow

  1. Place RoadWorthy.dll in your /scripts/ folder.
  2. Ensure Script Hook V .NET v3.6.0+ is installed.
  3. Launch GTA V. On first run, a highly customizable RoadWorthy.ini will be generated automatically if not already present.

03. Safety Violation Registry (13 Total Categories)

Blackout Tint (Illegal Window Modification)

Vehicle windows are modified to a "Pure Black" tint setting. Creates an absolute loss of interior transparency, resulting in high-visibility visual probable cause. Color: Jelly Bean Blue (63).

Suspension Misalignment (Structural Defect)

The vehicle will physically veer and pull across the roadway lanes. The NPC driver will actively steer against this force to maintain their heading. Color: Brown (56).

Unsecured Panel (Safety Hazard)

A random door, the hood, or the trunk is left completely unlatched and open while the vehicle is moving down the street. Color: Brilliant Rose (48).

Headlight Out (Equipment Failure)

A single headlight is non-functional while the housing remains intact. Highly visible equipment violation at night. Color: Bright Purple (27).

Ghost Car (Nighttime Ops)

Nighttime only. Both headlights and taillights are dark. Highest priority safety hazard on public corridors. Color: Purple (83).

Shredded Tire / Wheel Fault

Vehicle operating on a blown tire or bare rim. Results in erratic handling, physical dragging, and severe speed limits. Color: Pink Red (41).

Missing Plate (Stolen / Unregistered)

The vehicle operates with no physical plate. Automatically triggers a stolen status fallback, opening up a potential felony hit. Color: Yellow Orange (60).

Dealer Plate (Unreturned / Stolen)

Flagged as not returned from test drives or stolen directly from a dealership lot. Color: Orange (47).

Smoking Engine (Dangerous Emissions)

Thick smoke pouring from the engine compartment. Severe mechanical failure and neglect restricting speed. Color: Dark Gray (40).

Mechanical Damage (Collision History)

Significant body deformation or severe rear collision damage. The vehicle is physically warped but functional. Color: Lemon Green (24).

Broken Glass (Smashed Window)

Side or rear safety windows are shattered. Potential indicator of a vehicle burglary or prior collision. Color: Cyan (15).

Faulty Alternator (Electrical Instability)

Intermittent nighttime flickering of the entire light array, indicating failing power delivery before total blackout. Color: Light Blue (12).

Light Flicker (Equipment Malfunction)

The entire lighting system flashes rapidly. Indicates a severe electrical short or aggressive clearing behavior. Color: Light Green (11).

04. Command Parameters (.ini)

Entry Logic Description
SearchDistance Float Radius in meters for the script to scan and modify ambient vehicles (Default: 350.0).
MaxActiveViolations Int The maximum number of broken vehicles allowed in the world (Default: 1).
EnableBlips Bool Toggle markers for all violations on the minimap.
EnableLogging Bool Toggle debug/telemetry logging in the RoadWorthy.log file.
GlobalSpawnChance Float Decimal value percentage (0.00-100.0) that a scanned vehicle will receive a violation (Default: 1.0).

05. Field Tactics

The "No-Blip" Challenge

For maximum immersion, set EnableBlips=false. This forces you to use your mirrors and look through your windshield. Identifying an unsecured panel or a blank plate at a busy intersection using only your eyes makes the "catch" much more rewarding.

Tactical Positioning

Position your unit on the shoulders of high-speed corridors like the Great Ocean Highway. High-speed traffic makes mechanical failures, suspension pulls, and lighting flickers stand out more, simulating the stress placed on aging vehicles at speed.

06. Technical Support

?

No violations appearing in-game?

Check GlobalSpawnChance. If set to 0.0, nothing will break. Try 100 for immediate testing results.

Script fails to load?

Verify RoadWorthy.dll is in the /scripts/ folder. Check the ScriptHookVDotNet.log and /logs/RoadWorthy.log for errors.
